How Ingrid chooses her Hive5 investments

Around six months on Hive5

Ingrid regularly looks for P2P investment opportunities. She says the latest audited Hive Finance annual report and the length of time the business had been operating helped persuade her to try it.

Choosing loans every two weeks

Ingrid chooses loans manually. She explains her routine in her written response, translated from German:

"I check the platform about every two weeks. So far, I still select investments manually and then invest, because there have recently been occasional interest rate changes and new loan offers that I might not have received through Auto-Invest."

She says she has always found enough loans to invest in. After roughly half a year, she describes her experience as having worked well overall, although she finds the loading times when searching for loans relatively long.

Reading the financial reports

Ingrid particularly values the audited report she read and says its accompanying commentary made it easier to understand. She says she has not encountered this approach on other platforms. She also appreciates information about the loan originators.

Testing a withdrawal

Ingrid withdrew funds to test the withdrawal process. She says an offer of additional cashback for reinvesting persuaded her to return the funds.

Keeping to short-term loans

Ingrid remains very satisfied with her experience and still favors short-term loans. A secondary market could influence that preference, but she has not changed her strategy.

She says other platforms she uses mostly offer lower interest rates and sometimes leave funds waiting for investments. This is her personal assessment, not an independently verified comparison.

Advice for new investors

Asked what she would tell a friend, Ingrid emphasizes risk. Translated from German:

"I would clearly tell him that this is a high-risk investment and that he should diversify across several platforms as much as possible."

She also mentions using available entry cashback and sets a personal limit: investing no more than she could earn in a year through her other investments.

Ingrid provided her answers in German. The quotations in this article have been translated into English.
