Julián’s first year with Hive5 and his weekly portfolio review
An investor from Spain shares how he reinvests repayments, spreads his investments and decides when to move money between platforms.
Quotations have been translated from Spanish.
Hive5 was Julián’s first platform for investing in loans. He discovered it through a video by a YouTuber and had been using it for a year when he shared his experience. Since then, his investing has expanded: at the time of his answers, he was using 20 platforms.
He is happy with his results on Hive5 and finds the platform easy to navigate. His feedback also includes changes he would like to see, particularly around bonuses for existing investors and the choice of loan originators.
Reinvesting every few days
Julián usually logs in about every two days. When interest and principal repayments arrive, he generally reinvests them.
Once a week, he reviews his portfolio across platforms and decides whether to withdraw money from one, add it to another or leave things as they are. On Hive5, he aims to spread his investments across Firmeo, FinJet and Credilink.
The interface makes this routine straightforward. As he puts it:
“The platform is easy to understand and easy to navigate. I like that.”
Support that builds confidence
Julián has contacted the support team when he has needed help. Those exchanges have been a positive part of his experience.
“The times I have had to contact support, they have responded well, and that gives me confidence and peace of mind.”
He also points to a frustration. In his experience, receiving a bonus has required him to email and request it. He would like that process to be simpler.
What he would like to see next
Julián describes Hive5’s interest rates as broadly in line with the market. For him, they are neither particularly high nor particularly low compared with the other platforms he uses.
He would like to see cashback campaigns for existing investors two or three times a year, with summer or Christmas among the occasions he suggests. He also wants a wider choice of loan originators so he can diversify further within Hive5.
Advice shaped by his own portfolio
Julián has referred several family members to Hive5 and manages their investment portfolios. If a friend asked about investing in loans, his first point would be the relationship between returns and risk.
“The interest rate is linked to the possible risk. Nothing is free.”
He would suggest P2P investing only to someone who can accept that risk and remain comfortable with it. When describing Hive5 specifically, he would mention the range of loan terms, the ease of investing and the support available. He also sees value in a welcome bonus, while his own feedback shows why a clear bonus process matters to him.
After his first year, Hive5 is one part of a portfolio he reviews regularly. Reinvesting repayments and comparing where his money is allocated remain central to how he uses it.
Risk disclosure
This story describes one investor’s experience; other investors may have different outcomes. Past results do not assure future performance. Investing through Hive5 carries the risk of late or missed repayments, loan-originator credit risk, limited liquidity and loss of part or all of the capital invested. Investments represent rights to loan claims rather than bank deposits, and are not covered by deposit-guarantee or investor-compensation schemes. A loan originator’s ability to fulfil a buyback obligation depends on its financial capacity. Diversification does not remove these risks.
