What Hive5 is and is not

Hive5 is a loan investment marketplace. Investors acquire claim rights relating to loans that loan originators have already issued, from €10 per opportunity, under the applicable assignment and platform agreements.

The borrower has already received financing before the loan appears on Hive5. Hive5 does not issue the underlying loans, and investors do not lend directly to borrowers. Payments depend on borrower repayments, the loan originator’s performance and any applicable buyback obligation.

Hive5 is

  • A marketplace for claim rights relating to already-issued loans
  • An intermediary between loan originators and investors
  • Operated by Hive5 marketplace d.o.o., registered in Croatia
  • Subject to an annual independent audit at group level

Hive5 is not

  • A bank or a deposit-taking institution
  • A payment institution or e-money institution
  • A crowdfunding platform that raises funds for project owners
  • A provider of personal recommendations or discretionary portfolio management

Regulatory status. Hive5 is not regulated under any financial services licence. Based on our current legal assessment, this activity does not require authorisation as an ECSP crowdfunding service provider, a MiFID-authorised firm, a payment institution or an e-money institution. We are separately evaluating licensing options as part of long-term planning; no licence type, jurisdiction or timeline is confirmed. Read the full legal statement →

As of 30 June 2026, Hive5 reported no loans classified as overdue on the platform. That is a record of past performance across four years of operation. It is not an assurance about future payments, and it does not remove borrower, loan-originator, liquidity, operational or legal risk.

Andrius Rupšys

Andrius Rupšys

Co-founder and main shareholder, Hive Finance Group

Nearly two decades of building international businesses

Andrius has spent close to twenty years building companies that operate across borders. In 2007 he founded Ruptela, a vehicle telematics and fleet-management technology company. He led it from a start-up into an organisation of more than 250 people, developing its hardware and software in-house and reaching clients in more than 120 countries.

He co-founded Hive Finance Group and is its main shareholder. He sets the group’s long-term strategic direction and remains actively involved in it.

What he brings to the group is operating experience rather than passive capital: building distribution across many jurisdictions, running an engineering organisation over a long period, and taking a business from first product to international scale.
