How Andreas Tielmann Manages His Hive5 Portfolio

Andreas Tielmann was looking for another loan investment marketplace to diversify investments he already held across other platforms.

Hive5 caught his attention for a simple combination of reasons: stated interest rates, the option to invest in short-term loans, and, perhaps most importantly, the freedom to start small.

“The deciding factor in my decision to try out the platform was the ability to invest even small amounts at the beginning.”

Why Andreas Started Small

Andreas has been investing with Hive5 since March 2023. He began with a small investment.

“I started with a small amount to get to know the platform and gain some experience.”

Over time, he gradually increased the size of his Hive5 portfolio.

How Andreas Uses Auto-Invest

Andreas logs in to Hive5 about once a month. He reviews the interest earned, checks the primary market, and decides whether to adjust his Auto-Invest settings.

“So far, I’ve never had too much available balance.”

Hive5’s Auto-Invest allocates funds to loans that match the investor’s chosen criteria, such as interest rate, loan term, and loan originator. If no matching loans are available, funds remain uninvested until one appears.

Asked what made things easier than expected, Andreas points straight to this feature:

“Auto-Invest has always worked well. So I didn’t have to make many manual investments; I just had to set my preferred loans in Auto-Invest.”

Financial Updates and Investor Feedback

Andreas values the financial results and the lender updates that Hive5 publishes.

“I feel confident because Hive5 regularly publishes financial results and updates on individual lenders. The fact that there have been no issues on the platform so far and no major experiments has also strengthened my confidence.”

In its 15 July 2026 anniversary update, Hive5 reported that it had no overdue loans on the platform at that time. This was a platform-level statement, separate from Andreas’s own account history. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

One change Andreas remembers concerns cashback:

“In the past, users had to sign up for cashback themselves to receive it, but Hive5 has changed this based on investor suggestions, so it now happens automatically.”

A Look at Andreas’s Portfolio

Andreas’s account snapshot shows a total balance of €15,543.67, with €15,534.19 invested and €9.48 available. His portfolio includes 86 active positions, with no loans recorded as late in the 1–15, 16–30, or 31–60 day categories.

His account shows a net annual return of 13.04% and a profit of €909.54. Andreas describes the earnings in his own words:

“So far, I’ve already earned over 900 EUR.”

He adds that the returns he’s seen have been in line with his expectations, and that his Auto-Invest criteria have generally kept his available balance low, since matching loans have tended to appear regularly for the terms and originators he’s selected.

Considering Longer-Term Loans

Andreas is now also considering longer-term loans.

“At first, I only wanted to invest in short-term loans. Now I’m also willing to invest in long-term loans and earn higher interest rates in return.”

Andreas says the higher interest rates available on some longer-term loans have made him willing to consider them. Available rates and terms change over time; longer terms do not always mean higher rates.

How Hive5 Compares

Having used other loan investment marketplaces before, Andreas is direct about what sets Hive5 apart in his own experience.

“Hive5 operates very passively.”

He also points to the platform’s reporting: Hive5 is transparent, he says, and publishes financial figures for each individual loan originator.

From joining Hive5 in March 2023 through 7 September 2026, Andreas says he has not had any late or overdue repayments on his own account. This reflects his personal experience, not a guarantee of future repayment timing; individual results vary.

Advice for New Investors

Asked what he would tell a friend considering Hive5, Andreas emphasizes understanding the risks:

“I would advise him to invest only what he is willing to lose. I would also advise him to read through the financial reports to understand the risks.”
